Plans to extend the former Kerry Foods site in Grimsby, now owned by Morrisons, have been formally submitted, reported The Grimsby Telegraph.
The original factory was completed in 2002, forming part of Kerry Foods national production facilities, providing frozen ready meals for sale to their numerous retail clients. Following a corporate restructure within the Kerry organization, the factory was mothballed in 2012 with the loss of some 337 jobs.
Morrisons have now taken over the Europarc site, a move announced less than three years after it opened its first fish manufacturing site in the area.
