Salmon processing and farming giant Morpol is looking to buy a seafood processing plant in Vietnam owned by UK-based Amanda Foods, sources told IntraFish.
Negotiations have been under way for quite some time now, IntraFish understands, and the deal is expected to complete by the end of the year.
The Amanda Foods Vietnam plant mainly processes shrimp and value-added seafood products, but it has set aside operations to process salmon for Morpol, one source said.
The factory is known for exporting to the Japanese market, another source said.
