The Oslo-listed salmon farming giant started processing in another plant on May 5, after Morpol ended the contract on “short notice,” Ola Brattvoll, Marine Harvest’s chief operating officer for global sales and marketing, told IntraFish.
Marine Harvest had formerly operated in a section of Morpol’s Utska plant, one of the largest salmon factories in the world, processing frozen value-added salmon products.
With the change to the new plant -- in the vicinity of Utksa -- Marine Harvest has retained the “majority” of its staff, which is around 150," said Brattvoll.
