The Norwegian Seafood Federation’s (FHL) overview Akvafakta shows salmon biomass in Norwegian farms at the end of October this year was 696,000 metric tons, as opposed to 689,000 metric tons at the same time last year.
At the end of October, this year there were 431 million fish with an average weight of 1.6 kg in Norwegian farms. A year ago there were 409 million fish averaging 1.7 kg in weight.
At the end of September this year the biomass was 668,000 metric tons; relatively similar to last year’s 667,000 metric tons.
