Last year the Bergen-based salmon exporter Ice Seafood enjoyed a hefty rise in revenue, but operating profit declined. A beneficial rate of exchange ensured a tidy net profit.

Sales increased last year to NOK 241 million (€27 million/$29.8 million) from NOK 139 million (€15.6 million/$17.2 million) in 2013.

Operating profit declined to NOK 1.1 million (€123,116/$135,820) from NOK 1.9 million (€212,656/$234,599) in 2013. This resulted in a profit margin of 0.4 percent. Most of the fish were exported to Eastern Europe.

“The background for the jump in revenue is increased activity with several dealers, plus strengthened salmon prices,” the board of directors wrote in the annual report.
