Mitsubishi-owned canned tuna giant Princes posted an operating profit of £59 million (€75.7 million/$89.4 million) through March 2014, an increase of 10 percent from the previous year’s operating profit of £52.7 million (€67.5 million/$79.6 million), according to recently released figures on the UK Companies House.

Sales for the UK group reached £1.6 billion (€2.1 billion/$2.4 billion) for the year, up 5 percent from the same period the year before, which saw a turnover of £1.5 billion (€2 billion/$2.3 billion).

In the company’s strategic report, Director Manabu Oda said the group will continue to invest in research and development and that a number of products launched recently are expected to contribute towards the growth of the company.
