Maruha Nichiro Holdings has a new name and a new president following a merger of its five subsidiaries.
The combined entity, now called Maruha Nichiro Corp., coincided with the official resignation of Maruha Nichiro Holdings President Toshio Kushiro, taking responsibility for a food poisoning case involving subsidiary Aqlifoods Co., according to Kyodo News.
The merger brings together Maruha Nichiro Holdings, Inc., Maruha Nichiro Foods, Inc., Maruha Nichiro Meat and Products, Inc., Aqli Foods Corporation. and Maruha Nichiro Management, Inc. The company will remain listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
