In Norway they have parted company, but John Fredriksen and Tor Olav Troim have been awarded Russia’s 'Order of Friendship,' an award bestowed by Russia's President Vladimir Putin.

Several national media outlets reported this, including Barentsobserver, which suggested the reason for the award is for their work carried out with the drilling on the Universitetskaya-1 prospect in the Kara Sea.

According to the reports, the drilling activity had in turn led to the find of the Pobeda field.
