Morpol's processing plant in Utska, Poland, is currently being readied for Marine Harvest to start processing value-added salmon products in July.
Marine Harvest had previously processed at Morpol's plant, but the contract between the two companies was terminated in 2011. The Norwegian salmon producer then moved to a smaller unit in close vicinity of Morpol's plant.
The move was prompted by Marine Harvest's recent acquisition of the Polish smoked salmon giant. Since the takeover is still subject to approval by the European Commission, the company will rent the facilities first, before becoming an actual part of Morpol's processing operations in Utska.
