Salmon giant Marine Harvest is opening a processing plant in Dallas, Texas, mirroring the structure of the sites in Miami and Los Angeles to supply product to the Midwest of the United States.

“The intention is to get closer to customers in a region where there is no much salmon supply, there are many possibilities in there and the US is a very important market to Marine Harvest,” Marine Harvest CEO Alf-Helge Aarskog told Intrafish.

However, the company still needs more insight about consumer trends in the area to adapt the product to the target accordingly.

“Our
