The United Kingdom Food Standards Agency (FSA) on Thursday said Aldi Stores Ltd. will withdraw Almare sliced smoked salmon from its shelves, citing "potential risk of a taint" that resulted in "an unpleasant taste."
The FSA issued its first recall Feb. 13, citing a "white spirit taint," in salmon products supplied by Marine Harvest to retailer Morrisons. Two days later, the FSA widened the recall to include salmon products from U.K. processor Young's Seafood, Asda, Booths, Budgens, Co-op, Nisa-Today's, Sainsbury's, ShopRite, Somerfield, Tesco ShopRite, Somerfield and Tesco.
