Though the early August ban of seafood from several western countries did cause chaotic market movements, for salmon at least, the situation has stabilized, Norwegian salmon giant Marine Harvest wrote in its quarterly report, published last week.
But the company believes the effects of the Russian import ban will lessen as time goes by.
“Consumption in Russia was down 9,400 metric tons compared with the fourth quarter of 2013, which affected the market psychologically and led to a fall in European prices," the company wrote.
