The employee, Annette Krawietz, alleges Marine Harvest Canada violated her human rights laws by paying her less money to perform the same job being performed by men.

Krawietz was an employee in the company's dry-land warehouse.

Marine Harvest argued the commission did not have authority to hear the claim, but Tribunal Chair Heather MacNaughton in a Jan. 27 ruling said the tribunal will proceed with screening Krawietz’ complaint.
