This summer, broodstock were transported from its site in Bjugn in Sor-Trondelag to Askoy, outside Bergen.

Some time after the transport this summer, ISA was found in the remaining fish in the sea at Bjugn. It was feared the fish at Askoy contracted ISA, but samples taken showed no signs of the disease.

Marine Harvest received permission from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (NFSA) to stroke the broodfish at Askoy, after they outlined a plan for monitoring of the stroking process the NFSA could accept.
