Marine Harvest's production volumes are set to decline by 20,000 to 25,000 metric tons after the group warned of cutbacks to its fall smolt release in Chile Monday morning. This will have the first effect on volume in 2017.
“This will mainly have an effect on slaughter volume in 2017 with normal growth cycle, possibly with a small effect at the end of 2016," Ivan Vindheim, CFO at the company told IntraFish.
Concrete figures will be available in the third quarter presentation in November, he said.
