The long legal saga between long-time seafood executive John Lees and his former company Mar-Lees ended Tuesday.

"The parties to the Mar-Lees litigation have resolved their disputes and dismissed all claims and counterclaims, with no party admitting fault or liability," said Attorney John Daukas, who represents Lees, and David Bowles, lead counsel for Mar-Lees Seafood and Julius Numavicius.

"Further, Mr. Lees has ended his business relationship with Mar-Lees," they told IntraFish in an emailed joint statement.

The plaintiffs include Mar-Lees Seafood and its affiliates; defendants include Lees, JAL Consulting, attorney Michael Sweeney and other affiliates;

The dispute began over allegations that Lees and the defendants "engaged in various acts of misconduct that caused damage" to the company, according to court documents.

Lees' counterclaim named former CEO and President Ziad “Zeke” Shahin, Mar-Lees Seafood, Mar-Lees Holding and Seafood Development and Julius Numavicius, who is an indirect investor of Seafood Development Partners, which owns 80 percent of Mar-Lees.
