After the New Jersey state police pulled over Florida resident Emilce Rodriguez-Aguilar on Tuesday night for a traffic violation, they arrested the truck driver for an outstanding criminal warrant for a large amount of stolen seafood, according to state police.
The warrant was for the theft of $300,000 (€265,310) in shrimp from Preferred Freezer in Woodbridge, New Jersey last November.
"Rodriguez-Aguilar allegedly obtained the cargo with valid pickup order numbers, but never delivered it to its intended destination," said state police.
Police charged Rodriguez-Aguilar with theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception, and was held at the Middlesex County Correctional Facility on $75,000 (€66,327) full cash bail.
