Managing Director Stewart McLelland told IntraFish Monday he will leave Macrae to join former colleage and Macrae founder Bill Hazeldean's latest food venture.
Following the sale of Macrae to Young's in 2004, Hazeldean founded Adelie Food Holdings, a group that includes salad, sandwich and pastry firms Thomas Food Group, Buckingham Foods and Food Partners.
McLelland said his split with Young's and Macrae was amicable, and "strictly a personal choice."
"I've enjoyed my time with Macrae and Young's," he said.
McLelland said he will not be involved in the seafood industry at the new company.
