In a split decision, the North Pacific Fishery Management Council's plan team voted to recommend a maximum catch for 2010 of 813,000 tons, down from 815,000 metric tons in 2009.
The full council is scheduled to set the 2010 total allowable catch for eastern Bering Sea pollock during their December meeting in Anchorage.
The actual amount of the eastern Bering Sea pollock harvest is set at or below the allowable biological catch (ABC) level recommended by scientists.
