Shrimp demand from the United States is not picking up for the year-end holidays as compared to previous years, say Indonesian exporters.
“It is strange that US importers are not doing much promotional sales to drive volume, not like in the UK or EU where they have 'buy one get one free' promotions for the year-end holiday period," Arianto Yohan, export manager from CP Prima told IntraFish.
Latest orders for the year-end holidays usually come by the end of September or early October because it takes a month for the cargo to be shipped to the United States from Asia, but so far, the US market has remained quiet.
