Pan Asian cuisine, Japanese food in particular, has been the hottest trend in the London restaurant scene for some time now, said Abbas Lalljee, commercial director at Shield Foods UK.
Lalljee should know -- Shield Foods supplies gourmet frozen seafood to more than 300 customers in London's foodservice sector and counts top restaurants such as Nobu, Hakkasan, Roka, Zuma and Novikovand Cipriani among its clientele. It also supplies to popular sushi chains.
IntraFish met Lalljee at E&O [Eastern and Oriental], a sophisticated Pan Asian restaurant in Notting Hill, an establishment that has been going strong on a menu of sushi, dim sum, tempura and curry for 10 years.
