The company submitted planning consent Wednesday for a new 7,000 square meter plant, which will have the capacity to gut and fillet 15,000 metric tons of salmon from the company’s nearby farms.

If given the go ahead, the plant in Stornoway, Western Isles, will initially produce 5,000 metric tons of salmon and construction could be completed as early as end-summer 2010, CEO Odd Geir Oddsen told IntraFish.
