U.K. seafood supplier Young's Seafood may have reached a potential breakthrough to save its subsidiary business, the Cromer Crab Company, by moving all of its nationwide crab and lobster processing to Cromer.
The firm, which owns the Holt Road factory, could continue to produce a significant chunk of its “added value” prawn business there, rather than moving them to Grimsby or Scotland, as initially proposed, reported EDP 24.
After the meeting, Young’s chief operating officer Pete Ward and chief executive Leendert den Hollander announced the company’s intention to keep Cromer crab and lobster processing in the town.
It was a repeat of the pledge made by Ward during a 'Claws Off' special on North Norfolk Radio on Oct.
