Discussions on the future of the aquaculture industry for producing large salmon or trout are often heated, Brian Thomsen, director at the Danish Aquaculture Organization, said in a letter sent to IntraFish.
This comes in light of the ongoing debate on the scale and economics of land-based salmonid farming on IntraFish and Fish Farming International.
"A lack of empiric facts and proof of concept makes it an ideal battlefield for loose claims and counterclaims. We witness an increasing degree of polarization and we consider such debate to be nonproductive," he said.
