The first point that should be noted is that several authors of this paper were parties to objections filed under the MSC certification process. This paper should not be confused with an objective, third-party analysis. The paper’s authors are not so much “researchers” as they are members of advocacy groups competing with the MSC in the environmental community for relevance, influence, and even funding.
