Kristjansson argued that the "conclusions drawn from a sparse material are plain stupid," and rejected claims that the north cod collpase was due to overfishing.
His comments came in response to the funding body Marine Research Institute, which said while the study was important to undertake, it was "over dramatizing" the threat of collapse.
