According to Nick Joy, managing director of Scottish salmon farmer Loch Duart, every person that reads about GM salmon should write “to your senator; any opinion former you know; your local paper or any media outlet.”
He attacked environmental non-government organizations (NGOs) for not being vocal enough against GM salmon.
“For the record, and I wrote this precisely for that, I abhor the introduction of this concept, let alone its actual production,” Joy said in a letter to IntraFish.
“It is fundamentally morally wrong and no amount of saying that they won’t escape and they won’t interbreed will ever make me believe that GM salmon is right, useful or profitable for the human race or the planet.”
