Leroy Midnor currently has a capacity of 3,900 metric tons at the Omsoyholman site in Hitra municipality. It is now applying to have this expanded to 6,240 metric tons.
Leroy Midnor is keen to change the installation’s placement at the site to cross the main current direction in order to channel most water into the installation.
In November 2010, salmon producers in South-Trondelag and Nordmore signed an agreement to establish a zonal structure for the industry. Under that deal, Leroy Midnor only has one zone, in Froyfjorden between Hitra and Froya, in which to release fish from the generations of 2011, 2013 and so on.
