Both chicken and salmon will be the future winners when it comes to global consumption, according to Leroy Seafood Group CEO Henning Beltestad, speaking at North Atlantic Seafood Forum earlier this month.
Global production of chicken is close to 90 million metric tons annually, ready to consume, and growth in the period between 2010 and 2015 was around 12 percent.
Comparatively, salmon production is around 2.2 million metric tons, but has seen 48 percent growth, according to Beltestad’s figures.
