Two residents filed a class-action lawsuit last Thursday against major US food conglomerates alleging that they sell products tainted with slave labor while not disclosing information to consumers.
The lawsuit has been filed against Mars, Inc., Mars Petcare US Inc., the Iams Company and Proctor and Gamble Company and asks the court require these companies pay restitutions to consumers "they have deceived and ... ensure the absence of slave labor in their supply chains going forward."
California residents Christina Wirth and Adam Wagner "purchased Iams cat food from defendants through various retail stores."
