A lack of financial funding and a weak Russian ruble are the biggest concerns for Russian processors heading into 2015, only months after the turmoil caused by the ban on fish and seafood imports.
While issues processors had after the implementation of the ban have been sorted, Sergei Gudkov, executive director of the Russian Fish Union, which represents several large processors and traders, told IntraFish, "cutting the access to cheap financial resources and the weakening of the ruble against the major currencies are putting the Russian fish processing development under huge jeopardy."
