The €11m ($14.7 million) loan -- offered by Innovation Norway on 18 March -- was “critical” to sustaining the company’s involvement in the sector, he told IntraFish.

In an earlier press release, Innovation Norway said the loan would contribute towards “ensuring satisfactory, long-term financing for the company.”

Remøy also confirmed that the rebuilding of the company’s krill vessel Thorshøvdi will be completed in May.

Thorshøvdi will be Norway’s biggest fishing vessel at 133.80 meters long, and will create around 85 new jobs.

“As well as finishing the rebuilding work, test fishing will be carried out outside Olesund in May also,” Remøy added.

In
