A UK canned tuna ranking released by Greenpeace for 2015 sees the country's largest canned tuna brand, John West, sink to the bottom of the ranking, with major supermarket own-brands leading the way.

After promising consumers back in 2011 that 100 percent of its tuna would be sustainable by 2016, John West has managed only 2 percent according to Greenpeace who claims 'nearly all of its tuna' is caught in nets using much maligned Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs).

High end retailer Waitrose, meanwhile, topped the chart with its own-brand product, with Greenpeace describing it as a 'go to' tuna brand.
