He is replacing Masatoshi Ito, who will take on the role of chairman and executive director.

The final agreement on the executive changes will be made during a board of directors’ meeting after a stockholders’ meeting in late June.

Norio Yamaguchi, the current chairman and executive director at Ajinomoto, will retire.

Hideaki Shinada, who is a member of the board and corporate vice president and functions as the director of food division, will be promoted to be a member of the board and corporate senior vice president.
