Japanese giant partners with Hofseth to buy Fjordlaks Aqua

Japanese food and coldstorage company Yokohama Reito (Yokorei) is to acquire Norwegian trout producer Fjordlaks Aqua for NOK 1 billion (€106 million/$119 million) through a joint venture with Hofseth International, according to Reuters.

CEO Anita Pedersen Fjordlaks AS told IntraFish she could not comment but confirmed that only the salmon farming part of the company was being purchased.

Fjordlaks Group comprises the parent company Fjordlaks AS involved in the production of clipfish and Fjordlaks Aqua AS which produces trout and trout oil.
