Japan will abolish tariffs on some imported marine products, including bluefin tuna and salmon, under the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) tradedeal, reported Asia One.

The move will likely result in lower prices for consumers.

Among nations participating in the TPP talks, Canada and theUnited States export salmon to Japan, while Mexico is a major exporter ofbluefin tuna to Japan.

Abolishing tariffs on these marine products would result inlower import costs, which is expected in turn to increase the distributionvolume in the Japanese market and push down prices for the consumer.
