In the US International Trade Commission (ITC) publication on its preliminary findings in the shrimp countervailing duty issue, producers and exporters from five of the seven countries shared predictions for what 2013 may bring in terms of production and exports to the United States.
The combined data from the producers and exporters that gave information shows nearly 1.4 billion pounds, or 612,435 metric tons, of frozen warmwater shrimp is projected to be produced by Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. The two other countries being investigated, China and Malaysia, did not provide information.
