Considerably more Italians chose seafood over other proteins compared to their neighbors in France and Spain last year, according to a new report conducted by NS Gallup for the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).

The survey, which doesn’t include food purchased at restaurants, shows 29 percent of Italians eat fish for lunch, and 33 percent eat fish for dinner.

In comparison, 7 percent to 8 percent of Spaniards prefer seafood at these two mealtimes, while 12 percent of the French have seafood on the menu for lunch, and 14 percent for dinner.
