Italian fishermen strike: 'EU, fuel prices will put us out of business'

Italian fishermen are on strike in protest against EU regulations and risingfuel prices they say will put them out of business.

Hundreds of fishermen who held a mass demonstration in Parliament Square inRome last week are being supported by other workers in Italy, notably taxidrivers and lorry drivers but also other sectors, who are also upset at risingfuel prices and by the austerity measures being taken by the emergencygovernment in Italy, led by Mario Monti, to address the current crisis in theEuropean Union.
