Islandsbanki on Tuesday released its 2015 US Seafood Market Report, reporting statistics on commercial fishing in the US Pacific Coast, Atlantic Coast and Gulf of Mexico.
According to the report, the Pacific Coast fishing states -- mainly Alaska, Washington and California -- produce 3.2 million metric tons of seafood valued at $2.8 billion.
The Gulf of Mexico fishing states -- Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and Florida's west coast -- produces 632,000 metric tons valued at $940 billion and th Atlantic Coast states -- mainly Virginia, Massachusetts and Maine -- produces 595,000 metric tons of fish and shellfish valued at $1.8
