Infectious salmon anemia (ISA) has been detected at a farm in northern Norway, said the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (NFSA).

The farm, located in Troms and owned by Arnoy Laks, had an outbreak in 2010.

The virus was confirmed on 10 samples of fish. The diagnosis is based on clinical findings, increased mortality, typical tissue changes during autopsy and immunology analysis.

A control zone around the facility has been established, said the authority.

Restrictions have been imposed to avoid the disease from spreading, said Knut Oystein, head of the NFSA regional office in Nord Troms.
