The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the largest animal rights group in the country, said it rallied more than 400 seafood wholesalers, restaurants and supermarket chains in North America and Europe to “reduce or end” purchases of Canadian seafood until the annual seal hunt is a thing of the past.
“We believe the Canadian fishing industry will soon see that the price of an international seafood boycott is not worth continuing this cruel commercial seal hunt," the group said.
