Barring any last minute objections or bids, Ipswich Shellfish Group will buy Maine-based Preble Fish Co. next week for nearly $1 million.

Preble Fish Company, based in Kennebunk, Maine, declared bankruptcy last month, citing a downturn in seafood business for its financial woes.

Under the terms of the deal, Ipswich Shellfish’s subsidiary, Maine Shellfish Co., Inc., based in Ellsworth, Maine, would purchase substantially all assets of Preble Fish -- including land, inventory and equipment -- for $930,000.

That includes $750,000 for the assets, plus the sums advanced by Maine Shellfish on its debtor-in-possession loan of up to $180,000.
