Increased harvests of Atlantic salmon helped drive the sales gains, the company said.
The company harvested 6,684 tons in the first half of 2009 due to its growth plan, an increase on the 5,067 tons harvested in 2008, and this led to a higher sales volume.
Despite this, forecasted harvests were hit hard by increased mortality and early harvesting because of the infectious salmon anemia (ISA) virus, and algal blooms that hit some farms in March, the company said.
