All seven directors of Invermar are supporting the initial public offering (IPO) launched by Alimar, with which the latter plans to acquire up to 100 percent of the shares in the ailing producer.

While the price may not seem sufficient in light of what the company was worth a few years ago, it is an important premium, said Alberto Montanari, one of the owners of Invermar.

According to reports in Economia y Negocios, his brother Mario Montanari, president of the salmon company, said that while the price of the IPO cannot meet the expectations forged under another scenario, “it conforms to today’s conditions and reality, to the point that, in my opinion, it is appropriate.”
