Global supply constraints caused by the current early mortality syndrome (EMS) situation in parts of Asia, combined with favorable production factors in India offer the country attractive opportunities for it to increase its role in the industry, a Rabobank analyst told IntraFish.
Shrimp production in India has been growing at an annual rate of 42 percent since 2009, with the country’s production hitting around 216,495 tons of shrimp in 2012.
