BMR Industries, part of BMR Seafood Group, has become Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certified for its Indian shrimp processing facility, the company said.
BMR Seafood Group, which produces and processes high-quality Indian shrimp, has 250 hectares of hatcheries; 600 hectares of farms; onsite labs; feed mills, including a brand-new one that is the largest in India; and a 50,000-square-foot factory in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
Al Nasti, director of US and international shrimp sales for BMR, told IntraFish the company is also expecting to receive its 4-star Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) stamp of approval from the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) within the next two months.
