India-based frozen seafood supplier Abad Fisheries is set to open an new institute called the School of Fish, aimed at promoting best practices in the seafood industry, reported The Hindu.

The institute will open its doors in Kochi from next month in collaboration with the UK-based Billingsgate Seafood Training School of Fishmongers’ Company.

Offering short- and medium-term courses, the institute will be the first of its kind promoted by a company for the overall development of the sector.

According to Feroz Javed, director at Abad Fisheries, the institute aims to improve the quality of seafood, develop professionals, employ students, and attract talent to the seafood industry.
