IntraFish has received tips about instances of IPN this year, and western Norway is prominent for sightings. These have been confirmed by Solveig Nygaard, manager of the fish health service Fiskehelse og Miljo AS in Haugesund.
“There have been many instances of IPN detected on spring-release smolt in the area covered by us, (Hordaland and Rogaland counties). At present the level of mortalities is limited. We’ve noticed more farms are affected this year than is normal,” Nygaard told IntraFish.
