Peruvian anchovies continue to migrate south due to the strengthening of El Nino, Cecilia Pena, biologist of Imarpe, said, according to Gestion.
The process started in July, she said, with the entry of Kelvin waves in northern waters.
However, given the lower availability of anchovies in the north, some species such as yellowfin tuna, mackerel and skipjack have begun to appear, she said.
"When there is no anvocheta due to El Nino, there are other species appearing which are mainly for direct human consumption with high commercial level," she said.
